Spanish Netflix star José de la Torre passed away at the age of 37.
José de la Torre passed away at the age of 37. He was most recognized for playing Ivan in the Spanish-language Netflix drama Toy Boy.
The Spanish newspaper Montilla Digital reports that de la Torre passed away on December 5 and that a funeral service was held the following day.
According to sources, de la Torre disclosed in June that he had been fighting an unidentified “serious illness” for a while but had decided to put his health first by ceasing to act and model that month.
The Spanish program follows Jesús Mosquera’s character, dancer Hugo Beltrán, as he “sets out to prove his innocence for a crime he didn’t commit and was unjustly incarcerated for seven years earlier.”
From 2019 to 2021, Toy Boy lasted for three seasons and twenty-one episodes. Raudel Raúl Martiato, Carlo Costanzia, María Pedraza, and Cristina Castaño are among the other cast members.
Other Spanish TV series that De La Torre has credited include Serve and Protect, Amar es para Forever, and Vis a Vis: El Oasis.
His farewell Instagram post, which featured a number of images of him and his friends having a good time at a music event in the Canary Islands in June, has been used to pay tribute to the celebrity.
“The delight of reaching the Canary Islands, meeting up with friends, enjoying a mojito, and singing until your voice fails you,” the message said.
“So young, so handsome, so full of life, so good actor, I can’t believe it,” an admirer commented. “Rest in peace, Jose, and heaven welcomes you with open arms.”
Another added, “My friend, fly high! The sky is illuminated by yet another brilliant star—we shall meet again!
His buddy Marta Martinez-Bordiu wrote: “You have no idea how devastated I am to hear such awful news. It’s unfair; you should have been given more time because nobody else had the same zest for life as you did. You are a highly unique individual who is constantly joyful and ready to engage in activities. That we won’t party again and that I won’t see you again can’t be real. My friend, I will really miss you. I adore you very much.
“How difficult it is for me to accept that you’re gone, without even knowing you,” wrote Spanish singer and actor Lolita Flores in a post about De La Torres.
“Your 37 years pained me, even if we didn’t spend many hours together. Sometimes life is so unfair. Both the inside and the outside of you are attractive.
“I’m saddened by your departure and by the suffering of those who loved you.” I had time to get to know you, but not enough to love you. A warm welcome awaits you in heaven. How depressing. You left too quickly.
Antonio de la Torre Hidalgo and Maria Jose Delgado Espejo, De la Torre’s mother and father, as well as his sister Marina, survive him.
