The “Yes, And?” singer and the founder of Rare Beauty were seated next to each other at the Academy Women’s Luncheon in Los Angeles on Tuesday, December 10. Gomez told Variety that Grande was among the first people to message her following their respective Golden Globe nominations for Best Supporting Actress the day before.
The star of Only Murders in the Building added, “Ariana texted me and it was the sweetest note and it was about six in the morning.” She also mentioned that Benny Blanco, her boyfriend, emailed her congratulations at the same time. “We voice-messaged one another. It was so thrilling.
Additionally, Grande told the magazine that she has “always adored” Gomez. The R.E.M. Beauty tycoon declared, “I have a great deal of respect for her.” When she saw us together on that list, I was overjoyed. It was very unique.

Given that Gomez has long been a fan of Grande’s, it’s a great occasion overall.
